Yes, I've had this iPod for nearly a year, and I can tell you, I've had my fair share of problems with mainly the iTunes software in particular.
Infuriating doesn't even begin to describe iTunes. Firstly, I hate the way the whole computer freezes for ages when I connect the iPod to the computer, then it takes longer for it to update. Only, and here's my main annoyance with this, my iPod cannot update anymore(it comes up all the time now with 'attempting to copy to the disk "OWNER'S IPOD" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to' - even after clicking Restore various times), and this has nothing to do with any fault the iPod has as it works fine as is still like new(despite a few scratches it easily gets on the click wheel since I didn't have any proper protection for it then).
So, my iPod, having been restored again and again without successful updating of songs and videos I wanted to put on it, it's virtually useless, leaving me with the decison of what to do. I have now brought a temporary Creative Zen Stone that doesn't need any software to get the songs onto the actual mp3 player itself and the problems that come along with it.
To it's credit, it does have alot of features(like video, that plays really well), and good sound, but iTunes really lets this down. iPod are decent of you want to conform and fit in but there are better mp3 players than the 'all-powerful iPod', in my opinion.

The Ipod is clearly the best sounding, most user friendly and, subjectively, best looking MP3 player out there. My one major grumble is - and I've not owned any other for an extended period so can't compare - reliability. I've just sent back my 4th Ipod to Apple. They have all failed within a year which is awful. I'm quite a heavy user (10-15 hours a week) but even still this is poor. I'm just thankful they've all gone within the year so I've been able to pick up a free replacement.

Good, but not the best.
When my Ipod Nano broke, so I sought out a new MP3. Many of my friends recommended a video Ipod because they had a massive amount of memory and the fact that they can play videos. So, looking at both white and black versions, I decided to get the black, I think it looks better. And, when I first got it I was very impressed.....
For holding 15,000 songs, or 25,000 photos, the Ipod is not bad in size standards. It is apparently smaller than the 30GB one. While listening to songs, you can see the album artwork as well, in vivid detail. Everything is in colour, the manufacturers boast about such technology. The videos are excellent as well, they sound just as good as the songs and look just as good as modern day TV, the timing between the sound and pictures is perfect. The games are decent, not that entertaining, but do look good in colour screen. My favourite game is `Music Quiz', where the Ipod plays a song and you have to guess which it is in a few seconds. The Ipod has a sensitive touch, when you move down play lists. The controls are very simple; you don't really even need to read a manual. The Ipod can go to really high volumes, but this can screw up the Apple headphones it comes with.
The only downside features wise is the fact that it isn't very durable and so if you scrape it then the black paint might come off, doesn't look very good. Talking about durability the screen can be scratched very easily, and any scratch always leaves a thin long white mark along the screen.
Now, why I only gave it four stars: Sometimes it will completely screw up. The Ipod will show no sign of life and you will think it is completely broken. To me this only happens for a few days, but it is extremely annoying. This usually happens when it is charging on the computer. I leave it in a room charging, come back a few hours later, and it will be turned off. I try to turn it back on, but it won't, then a few days later; it will be as good as new. But at least it has permanently messed up, yet...........
Overall this is an excellent machine in what it does; videos, songs, photos and memory. But in what YOU do with it, it isn't really that good. I really think the manufacturers where concentrating on all of the features. I really don't understand why it screws up roughly every two weeks, which is how often I charge it up because it plays 50hours of music when the battery is full. Well, the massive amount of good things overpower the bad things:

I have the white version (see my full review there) but I just wanted to urge those looking at the black one as the best option to consider the classic white one instead.
The black looks cheap and plasticy and the finger prints which are an obvious problem on the reflective back of all ipods is now a problem on the front - the black gloss finish shows them up a treat!

There are several reasons why i consider the i-pod over any other MP3, yes it is rather expensive and yes it doesn't come with all the accessories but still there is no better MP3 out there.
I have owned well over 5 MP3 each from different companies and quite frankly all those SAMSUNG/CREATIVE and other MP3's are cheap yes, but the quality is several times worse. First off those other MP3's don't have the sound quality, none of them.
Another notable thing is the memory this little accessory has. 60GB is quite a lot and more than enough for all the songs you need, and you can add all of your favorite videos, music video's, audio libraries and such.
But with other MP3's even if you had all of this memory it would still be useless because you know why? They can't scroll through all the songs you want like this i-pod can. The Apple I-pod gives you an easy way to scroll through all the songs you need in a mattter of seconds.
Add the fact that it looks slick and something you can show off to everyone and it'll earn you more than for what your money paid for.
OK fine yes there are a few bad things...
First off the i-pod can easily get scratched... but I mean seriously just buy the nice silicon case and you won't ever have to worry about your i-pod getting scratched again...
Second point, you can't charge from a plug? buy the adapter...
that's about it really... what more do you want on the i-pod? a way to play video games? yeah you can play the i-pod games if you want even though it would hardly be the reason why you bought this accessory.
Add to the fact that you can buy speaker booster's to start a party or an adapter to the car so you can listen to all your songs in the car and this is really one of the best deal's you can get out there.
